Open your files and ask
Drop in one or more CSV or Excel files and ask a question. That is the whole setup.
Nothing to map, no schema to define, no connection to configure, no pipeline to wait on. Delimiters, column names and types are detected on load, and every sheet in a workbook becomes its own table. With nothing to hand, use Try the sample data.
Suggested questions appear above the ask box, derived from your columns. For the sample:
- revenue by product after discount
- top 2 products by revenue per category
- share of revenue by category
Answers land in seconds, with a chart where one fits, the reasoning steps, and the SQL — so you can check them. How it works covers the mechanism.
Your file is opened, not uploaded
Part of why it is quick: there is nothing to upload. Your spreadsheet is read inside your own browser tab — not copied to a server, not retained anywhere.
One thing leaves your machine, and only when you ask a question: your column names and whether each column holds text, numbers, or dates — never the values in your rows. The query it produces then runs on your own computer. The privacy and security page has the rest.
Free vs paid
Free is not a trial and does not expire:
- Unlimited AI questions
- Multiple files
- Charts when the result supports one
- Thinking steps
- Read, edit & copy the SQL used
Paid adds getting results back out and keeping them:
- Download results as CSV or Excel
- Download charts
- Copy results to the clipboard
- Saved insights (rerun transformations)
- Dashboards
- Follow-up questions
Asking is unlimited on every plan. Pricing.
Frequently asked questions
Is there anything to set up before I can ask a question?+
No. Open your files and ask — there is no column mapping step, no schema to define, no connection to configure and no pipeline to wait on. Delimiters, column names and column types are detected when a file loads, and every sheet in a workbook becomes its own table.
Do I have to upload my spreadsheet?+
No. Paperswift opens the file inside your own browser tab and reads it there, so the rows never reach our servers. Asking a question does send a short description of your columns, quoted in full below, and the privacy and security page covers where the line falls.
What if I have no file to try it on?+
Use the bundled sample: a small workbook of customers, products and orders across three sheets. It loads through the identical path your own file takes, so it is parsed in your browser, listed with anything else you open, and removable in the same way.
What does the free plan include?+
Unlimited questions, several files at once, charts where the result supports one, the reasoning steps behind every answer, and the SQL itself to read or edit. Free is not a time-limited trial. The paid plan adds taking your work back out and keeping it.
